!NoButton 2.0
February 1, 2007
!NoButton 2.0 can now apparently be used on any RISC OS machine running RISC OS 3.1 or better.
The program sends various commands to modern printers which enable you to perform head cleaning, test prints etc by clicking on an icon rather than use printer buttons or a PC.
!NoButton isn't completely free, a £10 fee is recommended if you really like this program.

!MeDDLe 2.10
December 3, 2006
Ray Favre has updated his progam !MeDDLe to version 2.10, This new version adds the ability for the user to choose an Impression/OPro Style which will be used to create HTML external links in the output HTML pages, and lots more new features!
!meDDLe is an application to convert OvationPro DDL documents into
HTML - including 'embedded' pictures.
On dragging in a DDL document, !meDDLe extracts its 'Styles' and
presents a list of them so that the user can - if he/she wishes -
'map' any Style to any one or more of the common HTML text-altering
codes e.g. Style "Heading" might be mapped to HTML code "h3".
There are other options:
- to get rid of headers/footers;
- to decide how the output is to be split into separate HTML 'pages';
- to choose a Style to be used for starting a new HTML 'page' or to
trigger the placing of an HTML marker
- to choose a Style to trigger the placing of an HTML external link;
- to add a Contents page with live links to each 'page' and marker;
- to include/exclude the extraction and referencing of pictures;
- etc.
The output comprises a series of...

Firefox 2 port
December 2, 2006
Over a fortnight ago, Peter Naulls asked for £1000 in donations so he could port Firefox 2 to RISC OS, the pledge had been successfull and now Iyonix users can happily browse the web with the version of Firefox.
The current version is far from finished but it's a start, only owners of Iyonix machines can currently use Firefox 2 but that might change in the not so distant future.
The next release of Firefox 2 if hoped to be released on Christmas day if a further £4000 in donations has been reached.
You can download this new port for free from the Unix Porting Project website, link shown below.

Cretin 0.23b
November 16, 2006
James Scholes has updated his IRC client for RISC OS, Cretin to version 0.23b.
Taken from Jymbob's site "Cretin is an IRC client for RISC OS. It was written mainly just for the fun of writing one, and partly because we wanted a client that worked as we wanted. Mainly for the fun of it.
It is called Cretin for no very good reason - it was born from "I (C)an't (R)emember (T)he (N)ame", which later became "I (C)an't (Re)member (T)he (I)RC Client's (N)ame" for the better acronym thing. It's also an anagram of IRCNet, so "go figure"."
